Test Your Eyes

Face the diagram in a well-lit room, at an appropriate reading distance and with the centre dot at eye level. If you normally use glasses or contact lenses for reading, wear them.

Close one eye with your hand and with the open eye focus on the point in the centre. Note whether you can see all 4 corners of the large square in the diagram. Repeat the procedure for each eye separately. If you cannot see every corner or if you see fluctuations, breakage, blurriness in the lines, you may have symptoms of age-related macular degeneration. Consult an ophthalmologist specialised in retinal diseases as soon as possible.
